Horsie Rides, Paige's Birthday & the Park

Hey there!  I'm finally blogging...I started this post Sunday evening but just never got around to finishing it.  Today I will...even though it's Tuesday.  Things have been going well for us the past few weeks.  The girls have been enjoying school, everyone has been healthy, and the weather is warming up.  You can't ask for anything much better than that.

First up is a set of photos of Paige riding horses at school the week before last.  One of her therapists took these for me...I'm so happy she did!  I'm not always there to see this in person, so seeing her in these pictures is the greatest.  I think you can tell by the look on her face that she LOVES it!

Now it's not all just fun & games during riding.  The kids have to work.  Here she is doing her PECS.  When the horse stops, she has to find the picture of the horse from her board and give it to the therapist.  The horse won't move until she's done it.  Since she's nonverbal, the pictures are her words.

And lately she's just too busy to take a nap at school, so this is what happens every day in the car on the way home...

But once we get home, she perks back up and is ready to mow down some Cheerios!

Reese is trying out some new sunglasses. She now has several pair...including these fun red ones that Grandma Darla found at the dollar store!

Looks like someone is trying to copy her big sister.  Hmmmm...I remember having one of those...haha!  Shout out to Jamie for dealing with me being mean to her because she wanted to do everything I did...oh the joys of siblings :D

We finally had Pip's 5th birthday party...two weeks late!  She was just too sick to have it on her actual birthday.  These girls don't get sick a lot anymore, but when they do, it lasts a week :( So we had the party last weekend, and I made a rainbow cake.  It looks complicated, but it's really easy.

We had the family over like usual.  I'm hoping one day these girls will understand how to make friends and we can actually invite children over...but until then, it's just the crazy family :)  Here are the pictures...

Paige and Papa David

This is what it looks like when I try to hold both my kids at the same time...ummmm...yeah.

Yes, Reese is just about the same size as I am.  I will hold her like a baby as long as I can...and as long as she'll let me!  This is one reason I work out...so I can lift my 56 pound baby and still play and swing her around :)

Aunt Jamie tickling Paige...all while sloshing around a water bottle and chewing on her necklace.  Silly kid!

Reese & Grandma Darla playing...

Pip and her gifts.  She got lots of clothes, a light-up pillow, some of her favorite snacks and lots of money!  Her toy box is covered with her pillows & blankets..we have a TON of them and so they're everywhere!

Okay, Jamie & I were in the kitchen taking selfies with my phone.  Dad jumped in and said, "Is this what you call a selfie?"  It was funny coming from him...so we took some...haha.

We made everyone left in the house join in, and Trisha decided to just photobomb us!

Here's a cute one of us sisters...who look nothing alike.  Seven years difference.  Obviously I'm older because I have more wrinkles.  Plus, Jamie is the one with the nice skin and great fashion sense.  I'm wearing shorts that I bought back in 1999.  I hate shopping...haha.  I guess I should look at the bright side and be happy I can still fit into them, right?

Us and Mom...this one turned out cute, even though my specs are crooked.

Before the party, I tried to get some cute selfies of me and Pip...

Chip thief...haha.

We went to the park again on Sunday...gorgeous day & gorgeous girls!

Everyone enjoying the sunshine!

Pip went down the slide once and then went right back to the swings.

Cutie.

Reese is quite the observer.  I'm convinced she has a photographic memory and is recording everything she's seeing in her mind.  One day she's going to start telling me everything we've done on whatever day it happened on.

The week before she tripped and fell on the sidewalk at school and scraped her elbow.  She found the scab fascinating and spent quite a lot of time examining it.

Well, that's it for this week.  See you soon!  Thanks for stopping by :)
