Being sick is no fun...

Ugh.  That's all I can say about the past week.  Marshall and I have spent the last several days passing back some sickness...I guess it's a version of the flu.  Major coughing, headaches, hot & cold sweats, runny nose, very achy muscles.  I started feeling it after teaching my Spin class last Monday morning, and it was downhill from there.  It takes a lot for me to miss working out, and I literally was forced to just lay around until yesterday.  Marshall was better when I had it the worst, and then he took another turn and got worse.  Now I'm pretty much over it, and he's still not 100%.  I'm still coughing somewhat, but it's way better than that achy body business.  It wiped me out completely.

I was supposed to begin teaching my Body Pump class on Wednesday, but it worked out for the best because A.) I was sick, and B.) the equipment isn't in yet.  Hopefully it will come in any day now so I can start teaching!  I'm anxious and excited to get on with it.

Needless to say, I don't have many pictures this week.  I did get some of Reese being silly yesterday, and then there are some from my phone.

Last night, she fell asleep still gripping the iPad, bless her heart!  She was watching a Dora episode all in Spanish.  Real Spanish...not just Dora Spanish :)

Here are some phone pics from random times & days....

Last night I met up with some of my YMCA friends for dinner at Chili's.  It was SO nice to get out of the house after being cooped up for a week!  We had a great time.  This is me & Jennifer...definitely one of the greatest friends ever!  You should see the workout shirts she had made for me for my birthday...I'll have to take pics of them :)

Me & Trudi...she teaches Spin also.  I've known her since 2001 when I first joined the Y.  She's a great friend!

Me & Marie...I've known her for as long as I've known Trudi.  She teaches step aerobics & Zumba at the Y and a few other places.  She's awesome!

That's about it...it's going to be a busy week starting tomorrow.  Lots to catch up on, and lots of Box Tops to count up for OCA!  See you next Sunday :)

Valentine's Day

Hey, family & friends!  Another Sunday is here and it's time to blog.  This was a busy week.  My birthday was on Wednesday...and I can't believe I'm now 37.  Really?  I remember when that was SO old.  Newsflash...it's not!  I had a really good day.  After I dropped the girls off at school, I did my usual workout, which is a 6-mile run.  Well, it's usual now...a few weeks ago I decided to add a mile on.  Eventually I'll try seven, but six is good for now :)  I'm really enjoying running...it gives me time to jam out to my favorite songs & just think without any interruptions.  Later that afternoon, Marshall and I went to the Texas Cattle Company for my annual birthday steak.  It was delicious, as always.  He got me exactly what I wanted, too...a mega-bright pink pair of sneakers!  Next week starts my new Body Pump class, and I wanted some cool new shoes to work out in.  They're awesome!

Next, on to Valentine's Day....it was not that eventful for us at all.  Marshall got sick and quarantined himself to his man cave.  I had remnants of a head cold still lingering, and it was rainy.  We really didn't plan anything anyway because we just went out for my birthday.  It's not a big deal to me to do a huge Valentine's Day thing anyway.  He did get me a necklace I'd been wanting...well, it's actually the pendant I wanted.  It's a puzzle piece, which is the logo for Autism.  It's really pretty, and I love it!

The girls had a great Valentine's Day at school.  I couldn't find a cute V-Day shirt for Reese anywhere!  Now that she's out of the toddler section, I have to look in the big girl section for her, and sometimes it's very hard to find things she'll actually tolerate.  If it's scratchy and hard...like with crunchy glitter, she won't wear it.  She literally screams and cries like it hurts her.  So I don't even bother with things like that.  She wore a pretty pink tshirt, but I didn't get any pics of her because it was so dark & rainy by the time they came home.

I love this picture of her.  She's only drinking from that sippy cup because she has to take her vitamins mixed with her water.  She does drink from a cup with a straw, but it's not spill-proof, and Paige LOVES to grab any cup she can find and dump it out.  So at least this cup is spill-proof.  Part of her vitamins is fish oil, so you can imagine how the house would smell if that got dumped out every day!  Paige is an animal, and she just HAS to dump stuff out...haha.

I did find Paige some cute Hello Kitty shirts for Valentine's Day.  And she came home with a side ponytail, which was so cute!  Here she is lining up her Legos.  It's serious business, you know.

Paige looked so cute cuddling in the recliner with Grandma Darlene!

Reese's new thing is the iPad.  She takes it to bed and watches her YouTube videos every night now.  She knows how to turn it on, get to the internet, and find her videos.  And they're all about the alphabet, colors, numbers, animals, etc.  She's very smart :)

Another one of Paige's cute shirts...Friday was cool enough for long sleeves, so she wore this with her red pants.  Super cute :)

Today was a much brighter day, so I put their red shirts back on them and tried to get some cute photos.  Notice how Paige is holding Legos in just about every single picture I take of her these days!

Reese decided to try on my glasses.  She looks like an adorable librarian!  She's probably thinking, "Wow...my mother really is blind."  Which I am.

And some cute pictures of Reese in her pretty red shirt.  Well, this first one is just funny...haha.  Who knows what she was thinking here!

Well, that's it for this week.  Thanks for stopping by, and have a wonderful week!

Paige turns FOUR!

Our sweet Paige turned four on Tuesday...that's so hard to believe!  She looks like she just turned three.  She's still so little.  She wore her birthday shirt to school on Tuesday and I took cupcakes for her and her friends & teachers.  I tried my hardest to get one picture of her looking at the camera, but that didn't happen...haha.

Reese looked so cute sleeping with all her pillows & blankets...and, of course, her latest catalog.

This was Paige's 100th Day of School hat....it didn't stay on long.  Just about five seconds.

Saturday we had the family over for Paige's birthday.  Half the guest list didn't make it because they were sick :(  But we still had a good time.  I made the cake again, and it almost didn't get finished.  The top layer crumbled on me and I just about hurled it out the window.  But I managed to salvage it, and even though it was a little uneven, it still tasted good and chocolatey!  I have lots of random pictures from the party.  None of Paige opening gifts....as usual.  She just doesn't get it yet, so it doesn't interest her.  She got a beautiful handcrafted toy box (made by Papa David), several cute outfits, a blow-up horsie, a few books, some binoculars, and some money.  I told everyone to not go overboard because this child has everything you could imagine!

Reese had a great time, and kept wanting to be tickled.  Later, she fell in love with Paige's birthday balloon.  It had helium in it, and she kept trying to set it down on the couch.  Every time it would float up, she would laugh so hard.  It was adorable, and she even went to bed with it later that night.  You never know what that kid will drag into her bed!

Here's Reese being enamored by this balloon....it was so cute!  As you can see, our house is pretty much a toy store...they're everywhere!

Finally a few really cute shots of the birthday girl...with her tummy hanging out, of course...

We took the girls 4-wheelin' this afternoon...and a good time was had by all.

Well, that's it for now.  I have a birthday coming up this week, so next week's blog will be coming to you from the old folks' home where I'll be living....haha.  Have a wonderful week!
