Anyway, we left on a Thursday morning. There were things going on for the workshop all weekend, but the part I needed to go wasn't until Saturday. Cheryl took an AIM 1 training all day Friday, which is the next step in becoming a better instructor. She teaches Body Combat, and she learned so much. The rest of us just hung around and did some sight seeing. Saturday was the big day where we basically worked out from 7am until 3pm. Crazy, I know. They presented all the new releases for all the programs....Body Pump, Body Step, Body Combat, Body Attack, CXWorx, Body Flow/Body Balance, Sh'Bam, Body Jam and GRIT. I think that's all....they have a lot of classes!
It was awesome, and I hope to be able to go to many more of these events! I got to meet lots of international trainers...these people are in our training videos, so they're like celebrities to me :) And most of them are from New Zealand, so they have the best accents...haha.
Here we are about to take off....way early in the morning.
I think this one was on the way home. I guess some of these photos are out of order, and I don't feel like rearranging them...
I believe this was coming home, too...above the Grand Canyon. So pretty!
This is Lake Meade...it's huge! It winds all over the place.
We ate here for lunch right after we checked in to the Aria. Awesome hotel, by the way. I think I had the best burger I've ever eaten at this place.
I just had to have this cute cupcake...lemon and strawberry. It was almost too pretty to eat. The Aria had a really big and nice dessert display right in the casino area. Very hard to pass up each time you walked by.
These were our drinks on our last night at a fun restaurant called the Double Barrel. It was just down the street from our hotel and it was open air. Really neat atmosphere and great BBQ.
Jaws slot machines! One of my favorite movies...had to take a picture :)
This was Jennifer's first time out there, so she had to experience the slot machines. Had to get a picture to commemorate this moment :)
And now there's True Blood slot machines...crazy! One of our favorite shows. I think I took a picture of The Walking Dead slots on my last trip...I can't remember if I posted it or not.
Okay, here are the pictures from our big event. They probably won't mean a lot to you because you have no idea who these people are. But they are amazing trainers & athletes. This guy on the right is Dan Cohen, one of the two creators of Body Combat. He's in all the training videos with Rachel, his partner. They are just amazing instructors and people.
More trainers doing the tribal ritual before getting started. Les Mills is all about being a global tribe of one, and they do all sorts of things to encourage and enforce the "family tribe" feel. Those three women are Susan, Emma and Rachel. Susan is one of the co-creators of Body Pump and she is beyond awesome. Very inspirational to me. Emma is amazing, and Rachel is just bad ass. Sorry for the cuss word, but she just is.
There were about 1,000 people in this room getting ready to do Body Pump at 7am. We were out the door waiting to get in at 6am. This is just one side of the room.
Here's the other side...
Here we are getting ready to work out! Let me tell you...getting up at 5am on your third day in Las Vegas is NOT EASY. And I was having some other issues this particular morning...get ready for TMI....my time of the month PLUS I had an allergic reaction the night before to some new lip balm I bought at the mall. I love lip smacker type stuff, and I put some on and my lips got really red and swollen and dry....it was not fun, and they were still swollen the next morning....HERE in this picture. I looked like I had collagen injected into my lips. So I was trying to get pumped about being there while trying to hide my face. And suck in my bloated stomach. But I couldn't NOT get a picture of this awesome moment!
Ugh...I am not posting the sad pictures of my fat lips....you'd die of laughter! I was trying to suck them in here a bit...but they looked scary in real life. Just ask Jennifer and Cheryl!
This equipment rules! It's the Smart Step and Smart Bar. Way too expensive for the Y to afford, but we got to use it here.
More shots of Body Pump...in between songs. I snapped pics whenever I could.
What a cool stage set up! Just like a big rock concert...lights flashing, music booming...it was just really awesome!
Susan Renata....I just love her.
Be still my heart! This is Petter from Sweden. Unbelievably strong. He's in several of the Body Pump release videos...and quite dreamy.
This is Will from Auckland...VERY nice and such a great instructor!
Susan and Emma....this was a great moment for me! They inspire me :)
Now this guy was our keynote speaker Saturday evening. His name is Kyle Maynard...you may have heard of him. He was born without arms or legs, and he has done SO much in his life. He has literally crawled up Mt. Kilaminjaro....I'm sure I spelled that wrong. He's all set to do another big climb here soon. He is very fit and works out all the time. He told us all about his life and how he has survived doing so many positive things. It was a really touching and inspiring moment, and to know that he does WAY more than most of us do. He drives...he does pretty much everything we do. It's amazing. It really made me see that anything is possible.
A few snapshots. I know I look like a hot mess...but I had been up since 5am and I had already worked out for 2.5 hours at this point.
Here's the awesome lunch they provided us with.
Friday night we had dinner at the Stratosphere. Cheryl and Jennifer had never been there....they loved the sunset and watching crazy people do the free fall jump from the top!
Haha....don't ask.
The view from the Stratosphere...so pretty.
On the bridge from MGM Grand to New York, New York....a great place for a "Strip Selfie."
Getting ready for dinner Thursday night...we went to Craft Steak in the MGM and then went to see Ka (Cirque de Soleil) at MGM. We sat on the 2nd row and it was amazing!
Dinner at Craft Steak...
Me and my honey :)
So we went out and about on Friday while Cheryl was in her training. We ran into some Minions :)
The flowers were blooming all over the place at the Bellagio....very bright and beautiful.
The fish pond was really cool.
More flowers...
While out and about I found the exact shoes that Carrie Bradshaw wore in Sex and the City...this was the episode when her shoes were stolen from a baby shower and never returned. I recognized them right away! Never seen Manolos in real life...I was impressed! Haha!
This was at Caesar's Palace...so many fun statues and things to see there.
We had such a great time out there! I really wish I could go again soon...it's just a fun place to visit. I love seeing the shows and eating at different places....I really couldn't care less about gambling. I just like the atmosphere out there.
I've got lots of pictures of the girls to post...I just have to edit them and get them uploaded. Hopefully soon! Thanks for stopping by :)
